Yesterday was one of the most exciting days I've had for ages!!!! I entered the Provo Craft E2 Banner contest and was one of the winners!!!!! OMG!!! I was shocked!!! But sooo excited!! I've always said that if I was to win something like this I would be screaming but that is not what happened at all! LOL...I just sat there and stared at the screen then took my laptop into Bob and asked him to look...I wanted to be sure I was seeing it correct! While he was looking I started crying!!! And ever time I tried to talk I would start crying again!!!!

I even asked him later in the day if I had dreamt the whole thing!! Thank you Provo Craft!!! This was a dream come true!!!

I didnt get very good pictures before I sent it off but here are a couple that I got!

I hope everyone is having fun today! I was not able to go cropping this weekend so I am trying to do some of the great challenges I have found online!! Now...the key words are trying...and challenge...because believe me...today it has been a challenge to get anything done in the scraproom! Now tell me...how can that possibly be!!!! I have no two legged kids and I still had a hard time getting back here! hmmmm...I'm thinking either the dogs or my hubby are just to spoiled! lol

Here is a challenge I did for The pink stamper and Crafting for Caitlyn.

The pink stampers challenge was to use kraft paper which I used as the background of my card.

Crafting for Caitlyn had a bingo card in which I used the lines....pop dots, inking, and die cut!

And the best part was I got a graduation card done for my friends son who is graduating from 8th grade this weekend!!! WOOO HOOOO! Now to just get it in the mail!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and Happy Mothers day to all you wonderful mothers!

This is a layout of my great nephew Gage after finishing a cupcake! Isn't he a cutie! It's a simple layout but I really like how it turned out!

I posted both copies of the layout because I wanted to see side by side..lol...or up and down...the difference a couple little things I did made to the layout! When I did the layout the first time I liked it...but felt it was missing something. A couple days later I had a chance to watch Monique's video on some techniques she always uses. I tried a couple of them and think it really made a difference! It's still a simple layout but with a little pop now! I had already inked on the first copy but added the black mats and I did a little white pen work! I can see I reallyyyy need to work on my inking but I will just have to keep working on that one! I still need to work on my white pen work also but for my first try I'm pretty pleased! thanks Monique for the tips!

Her she is patiently waiting...well...maybe not so patiently waiting.. for Santa to show up. Every year Santa comes to Grandma's a week or so before Christmas so that the little ones can tell him what they want. Thats a serious visit...the last they get before the big day to tell him exactly what they want!

With all the hustle and bustle of getting ready for Christmas I needed a break and decided to do a layout... Just something quick..simple...that would make me smile. And while at nikkisdoghouse.blogspot.com I found these cute freebie cut outs! Don't you just love the name of her blog....lol...anthing that has to do with dogs gets my attention!!!

It's been a busy week here in Salina! My 2 year old great nephews birthday party, a baby shower, a wedding, hubby's birthday and we have 2 extra goldens spending their vacation with us!

I did get a card made for TurnedGypsy's challenge though! LOL...I have one more baby shower coming up so the timing was perfect!

Crawl Challenge

It's been such fun and a great trying out a few things I've never tried before!!! Here is a list a each challenge and how I did it!

1. Annie at http://www.cokiepopaper.blogspot.com/ challenge was to make a accordian flower! Be sure to check out Annie blog she is giving away the robotz cartridge this week!!!

2.Brenda challenge was to create a journal block. I hate to admit it...but I am horrible at journaling so this was great for me!!

3. Candance challenge was to to emboss on a die cut. I embossed my pink and yellow eggs on my layout!

4. Lori wanted us to use the negative of a die cut! I used the one from my journal block! I backed it with another paper and it worked out to be a great mat for my photos! Now I'm wishing I had also cut a cloud out and did a little inking and made some clouds!

5. Nana asked that we use our gypsy! ohhhh baby....gotta love my gypsy!! I figured out how i wanted to do this layout while sitting in the living room with hubby watching tv!!

6. Penny wanted us to shadow. I shadowed my title words. It doesn't show up very well in the pic but looks nice!

7. Robin asked us to draw with our cricut! Now I admit..I have the pens...I have the holders...I have just never tried it. For my first attempt I LOVED it!!! This is something that I will be going back to many a time now!

8. Sammye Jo challenged us to ink and draw on a die cut. It's hard to see in the pic but i did ink on both of my embossed eggs. I also inked on the sun. And chalked on the bunnies and grass!. I think I need to get a little braver with my inking and chalking. when I was doing it I got nervous that I was going to ruin it and now think I could have done a lot more!

9. Sharon...glass etching....ohhhh this one I had to think about!! I finally ended up getting some small round mirrors and etching the year onto them. I used these for the centers of my flowers. This is the first time I've etched....yep another item I had to have and then it sat in the cubby waiting for me to be brave! Thanks Sharon!

10. Tammy...asked us to paper piece. My paper pieces are pretty simple on this layout. The sun and bunnies

11. Valerie...a food item!!! LOL...well she didnt say a healthy food so I put eggs and chocolate bunnies on my layout!

Thanks ladies for a great time! I think my layout turned out pretty cute! AND I actually have it done and waiting for me to print my pictures!! and yesss...Brenda..I will write on the journal block!!!

hmmmm.. I'm not sure if this is what she had in mind on this challange. But since I have my cricut I hardly ever use stickers...PLUS...I love to buy dog paper!!! I have 6 goldens so of course I love dog paper.. I just hate to actually cut my cute doggie papers up!!! LOL Well...I used some stickers AND cut into some paper! Again I was having some problems getting my colors right when I took the picture!

The challange was to use rainbow colors...all or some of them. I chose to use blue, yellow, and orange! Love these bright happy colors!

But I have loved this picture since they gave it to me!!! Never mind that they now have a almost 2 year old!!! LOL...better late than never...right??? My nephew and his wifes wedding pic!! This one of the pics that I always knew that I wanted to scrap....come one now...you know you have some of those just waiting somewhere in your scraproom also!! I love the colors and it's my first time using a little bit of bling!!! Why didnt someone tell me bling was so much fun!!!hmmmmm...I wonder if there is someway i can work bling into a farm layout....

Wow! I can see why the judges had a hard time picking out the winners!! Everyone is on top of their game for this contest!!!

I had so much fun putting this together...well...except for all the stress!! The trees are bound and then spread open to stand in my scene. The orginal plan was to laminate everything else...BUT.. my your story quit when I tried to laminate the first thing so the snowman is laminated. Once I get it replaced I'll go back and finish that part off.

LOL...since I can't remember how to post more than one pic at a time on the board I'm posting my pics here!

My ckc surprise!!!

I'm so excited!!!! Lori and I went to CKC-KC this year and I entered a layout and a card into their contests. On monday the ups man showed up with a couple of boxes!!! I WON! 1st place on both of them!!! Now I don't know if that means no one else entered or what but I'm super excited!!!!

Here is a pic of what I won and of the layout that I did. The card is the mickey stair step card that I already posted a couple of posts further down! Looks like I have plenty of reading to do now!!

Cartridge Used: George and Basic Shapes
Instructions:
I found a9 1/4 in board which I painted off white Cut the paper of your choice into a 9 inch square. 2 inch squares for the gameboard I used the george cartridge to also make the x's and o's Each marker is 6 layers of paper. 2 1 1/4 inch pattern pieces, 2 plain papers at 1 1/2 inch, and 2 plain paper at 1 1/2 shadow. I glued the 2 shadows together, then on each side glue a 1 1/2 inch piece and then a 1 1/4 each piece. This gave me e a sturdy piece for little fingers...and it didnt matter which side was up!

I posted this for the challenge this week! I made it awhile ago and since this is a super busy wek for me...and I LOVE how this turned out I wanted to show it off again!!
And you thought Christmas only came in December!! Here is a very special gift tag that I made earlier and finally finished it up for a contest at TODAYSMAMA! I wanted to see if I could cut some reallyyyyyy small cuts! I think it turned out so cute!!!

I started with a couple of acrylic tags from Clear Scraps. I used some of my white acrylic paint and painted snow along the bottom side of the larger scrap. While this dried I started up my big bug and cut out the following using my Joys of the Season cartridge on shadow.

sleigh 3/4 inch
reindeer 1 1/4 inch....I chalked the front of his chest with white chalk.
polar bear 1/2 inch
snowman 3/4 inch
trees 1/2 to 1 1/4 inch...I made 16 trees total using two different color of papers. I chalked the edges of my trees with white chalk.

From Christmas solution cartridge I cut a 2 inch blackout snowflake.

With Zip Dry I glued the sleigh and reindeer to the front side of the smaller tag.

On the front side of the larger tag I glued 8 of the assorted size trees. I then glued on the polar bear and snowman. On the back side of the large tag I glued on another 8 assorted size trees making sure to stagger for a forest effect.

With markers I inked in the details of bear, snowman, dear and sleigh. Then I stickled snowflakes in the sky on both tags and in the snow on the large tag.

I used Diamond Dust for the edges of my two inch snowflake but Stickles would work great also! Punched a whole for hanging and put all 3 pieces on a ring. Using assorted ribbons to add a dash of color and it was done!

I hope you like it as well as I do!

Have you ever had a project that you really liked but could not get a good picture of it no matter what you did. Thats what it's been like trying to take a pic of this project! I really like it until I see it in the picture!!! Nothing I do gives it the justice it deserves...but this will give you a idea of what it looks like! The plan is to have it hanging with a grouping of family photos in the dining room..lol... If I can get it to look right there!

I used zooballoo for my fonts cut at 4 1/2 inches

walk in my garden for the flower which I inked the edges and layered

Each panel is 5x7 with your choice of paper glued on. I used assorted embellishments that I had around the house....ribbon and buttons. I used about 3 yards of ribbon to hang this but that would vary with what word you are trying to make!

Hi Girls!!! Bet you thought I forgot to post these didnt you Amber! No, just running half a step behind is all. Hope you all have fun on the North shopping trip. I've got my list made out and am ready to get a few things taken care of on our trip Sunday.

This is a card I made to send to the nursing home where my dad lives. The ladies and gentlemen there have been our angels on earth. Dad has Alzheimer's. A illness which doesn't just affect the person with it...but the whole family. Years ago I watched as my father struggled with losing his mother to this horrible illness...today I am struggling with the same thing while also watching my mother try to deal with the loss of the man who has been her partner for 53 years. With lots of prayers and research I pray that no one else in my family...or any family will have to go through this horrible slow loss again.

Hi! Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was pretty good...I've got a cold but that just kept me home long enough to finish my very first word book! LOVE! This was so much fun....I can see that it is going to be just like tator chips...you can't eat just one! I didnt do a lot of embellishments with this one but for my first try I was pretty happy!

I used my george cartridge and design studio to make this love book. I cut it out at 5 inches high. I didn't have chipboard so I used 3 layers of plain cardstock glued together for the base of each page, then covered it front and backside with my pattern papers. Remember to flip your paper or use the flip key if you are using the expression for the backside pattern paper so that you will have the pattern side up! I used my bind it all to bind the pages together. Then came the really fun part of decorating!!!

The weather is cooling down and I'm getting in the mood for fall and christmas!!! Just sick arent I? LOL. I don't usually send out thanksgiving cards but this one turned out so nice I think I just might send out a card or two! I want to thank MJ on the cricut message board for the idea on making the pumpkins!! SOOOO CUTE!!

The second picture I used my cuttlebug! It's hard to tell in the pic but I used ths swiss dot folder on the black. I found the pumpkin paper at hl and just had to get it!

Hello! It's been a while but that just means that I have been busy playing in the scraproom! I have been working on my swaps and checking out the message board and just getting all kinds of ideas for cards. This year I'm actually going to attempt to make my own cards!! I still haven't figured out exactly what my card is going to look like but I've had loads of fun experimenting! This is a card that one of the wonderful ladies on the cricut board shared a file of! Isn't this just the cutest cube ever! My mom loved it and so did everyone else at the party! Sorry about the glare on the cd cases.

I used my mickey cartridge to cut the paper pieced shapes and got the directions for the cube from a wonderul lady on the cricut message board! Jewels...Thank you so much for showing us how to make this wonderul present! Your video made it super easy! Here is the link if anyone else would like to make this!

It's been a bit since I've updated!! Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! We stayed close to home this weekend. between the price of gas and the weather it just seemed like a good idea! We do have a extra member to our household this week...Oakley Anne! Yes, it's been a while since I posted but things seem to get crazy around here the last couple of weeks. I do have my scrapbook room painted..YEAH... now I am busy painting my table top. I so can't wait to get all of my supplies put away...heck at the moment I would settle for having them in the same room!!!!! To show you how determined I was here are a couple of layouts that I did while using my kitchen countertop as my table....lol.. I just bought the mickey cricut cartridge and had to try it out before I exploded! The second layout I ended up just using the george cartridge..

Well, I did it today! I've been wanting to redo my scraproom. Couldn't decide whether to leave up the wallpaper or go all out and paint. Now I have no choice. It all started with just a tiny little pull behind the door to see how easy the paper was to remove...and it grew...and grew... Now I've no choice! I have one whole wall with the paper removed! Now to just decide what color I want the walls to be!

My first try at posting a layout on my blog! This is a layout of my golden Sunni when she was 6 months old. She tried to carry that log at her feet through the doggie door but it wouldnt go...being the smart thing that she is...she laid it down, came in, and pulled it in! Hi all! Well, I decided to take the plunge and try my hand at this blogging thing. My name is Mary and I am a scrapbooker....who has begun to venture into the world of cardmaking. I have been scrapping for years...no kids so you will see lots of layouts of my dogs created here! For Christmas my hubby bought me a baby bug and that opened up a new world for me! I found the message board and met a group of wonderful enablers...you all know who you are!
